Role description

St Paul’s Catholic Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to join our vibrant school community.

The Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging, inclusive and developmentally appropriate Physical Education programs for students from Transition to Year 6.

The successful applicant will inspire students to develop confidence, competence and enjoyment in physical activity, while building an understanding of the importance of healthy and active lifestyles.

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Physical Education lessons aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Developing students’ fundamental movement skills, fitness, coordination, teamwork and sporting knowledge.
  • Creating inclusive learning experiences that encourage participation, confidence, resilience and enjoyment of physical activity.
  • Promoting positive attitudes towards health, fitness, fair play, sportsmanship and lifelong physical activity.
  • Planning and coordinating school sporting events, including swimming and athletics carnivals, sporting gala days and inter-school sporting opportunities.
  • Preparing students for participation in carnivals, gala days and representative sporting events.
  • Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and other specialist staff to support student learning and wellbeing.
  • Maintaining appropriate records of student achievement and using assessment to inform future teaching.
