Role description


This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing ASAP

The School of Special Educational Needs: Behaviour and Engagement (SSEN:BE) is seeking to appoint a School Psychologist for a permanent, part-time (0.6FTE) position at the Midland Learning Academy (MLA), commencing as soon as possible.

The SSEN:BE is part of the network of specialist schools that operates under the Statewide Services pillar of Service Delivery. SSEN:BE provides educational support and services with schools for students who present with extreme, complex and challenging behaviours across a Kindergarden to Year 12 (K-12) context. A continuum of support is delivered through Engagement Centres, the Midland Learning Academy and the Teacher Behaviour Professional Practice team. These services are coordinated through SSEN:BE which provides the administrative structure that oversees and manages these services as a Statewide model of supports for schools, teachers and students. The services complement other teams working in networks, regions and schools, supporting a greater number of students across the state. Support is available across the public school system.

School psychologists are integral to the work of the SSEN:BE, with professional leadership and support for the team provided by lead school psychologists, who also coordinate specialised training relevant to the role.  SSEN:BE school psychologists provide specialist psychological assessment and evidence-based interventions using a scientist-practioner approach, as well as provide consultation at the individual, group, whole school, and system leve…
