Role description
This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 4, 2026
Carson Street School is the state’s only Education Support Primary School, and it educates early childhood and Primary aged students with moderate, severe and profound multiple disabilities often with comorbid medical conditions and sensory impairments. All have communication difficulties and most are non-verbal. All students require highly differentiated curriculum, specialist teaching and learning programs, assistive technology and extensive adult support to access their learning programs and to provide daily living requirements. Students have a wide variety of medical conditions. Students graduate in the year they turn 11.
Our specialist Conductive Education program attracts enrolments from across the metropolitan area. Communication is a major focus at Carson Street School with students using various forms of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) including Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD).

The Role
The School Officer is responsible for reception duties, including greeting visitors, answering the telephone, and responding to routine enquiries and requests for information in an efficient and friendly manner. They provide general clerical and administrative support, including preparing correspondence, newsletters, notices, and other materials in a timely manner.
