Role description

TEACHER - PHYSICAL EDUCATION / SUPPORT

Position Details
This is a part-time temporary position commencing on 24th August 2026 until the end of the year.

St Maria Goretti's Catholic School is a double stream school catering for students from Kindy to Year 6. The school also has a strong focus on Indigenous education which is demonstrated by the inclusion of the ‘Moort Waabiny’ Playgroup for students 0-4 years.

This position will suit a formally qualified, vibrant and enthusiastic individual who loves working in an interesting and engaging environment.

Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
• An understanding of the physical education curriculum and reporting requirements
• An ability to organise and run carnivals
• Support for the objectives and ethos of Catholic Education
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated teaching team
• The importance of developing positive relations with children, staff and parents
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
• A desire to help all students achieve their full potential
• Understanding of and the ability to differentiate the teaching and learning program to cater for a variety of student needs
• Willingness to be fully involved in the school's activities
• A positive, enthusiastic and dynamic demeanour
• Willingness to be a reflective member of a professional learning community

Qualifications Required
• A recognised four year tertiary teaching qualification
