Selection Criteria
SC1 Demonstrated experience and skills in performing maintenance and groundskeeping responsbilities.
SC2 Demonstrated capacity to work independently to fulfil specific projects and ongoing regular maintenance tasks.
SC3 Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.
SC4 Possess the technical knowledge and expertise relevant to the position.
SC5 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management: proactive identification of hazards and impending maintenance tasks, and identification of costs savings and efficiency outcomes with regard to ongoing maintenance and development of the school and grounds.

Role
Develop and implement a strategic short and long term plan for the schools facilities and grounds.
Responsible for the maintenance of all buildings and grounds, including essential services in conjunction with the OH&S Manager.
Promote a safe, supportive and positive work environment.
Liaise with members of the school community, in accordance with Department of Education policies and guidelines.
Identify and participate in professional development as appropriate.
Suggest ideas/plans/potential solutions to achieve clearly defined areas of concern.
Observe and apply safety procedures within work areas.
Effectively apply skills, knowledge and experience to demonstrate the ability to prioritise tasks.
Coordinate with the VSBA regarding all building defects during the liability period where applicable.
