Established in 1876 Longford Primary School is situated on 7 acres of landscaped grounds in a rural setting in Central Gippsland with a population of 170 students and located 7 kilometres from Sale and 25 kilometres from the Ninety Mile Beach, gateway to the beautiful East Gippsland area.
The school attracts students from surrounding districts with approximately 28% of the children travelling by bus. The students come from a variety of backgrounds with a combination of farming and other small businesses, along with professional occupations making Longford a diverse and progressive community.
Up to five generations of families have all attended the school and consider it the focal point of their community. The school is renowned for its excellent history of parental involvement in its programs with a dedicated Parents Club. This dedication has become a vital component in the ongoing education and welfare of students.
