Role description

Location: Magdalene Catholic College, Narellan

A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will be required to teach Religious Education subjects up to and including Stage 6.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Religious Education subjects.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the wider College community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Experience having previously taught Religious Education and a willingness to teach Studies of Religion 1 and/or II and Studies in Catholic Thought

GENERAL CAPABILITIES

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
