Auslan Teacher

Emmaus Catholic School is looking for a part-time Auslan Teacher (0.7 FTE).

Key Responsbilities: 

• Plan a comprehensive learning program in line with Australian Curriculum.
• Address students’ varying intellectual, emotional and physical abilities in teaching practice.
• Establish positive and effective relationships with students.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student progress and achievement.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills with students, colleagues, parents/caregivers and others at all times.

About You:

• Current Teacher Registration in South Australia and relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience.
• Actively support and contribute to the Catholic ethos at Emmaus Catholic School.
• Employ high quality teaching and learning practices appropriate for an Auslan Language Program in Primary Years context.
• Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, students and parents to develop positive and inclusive relationships.
• Employ effective behaviour education strategies, aligned with Trauma Sensitive Practice.
• Demonstrate a passion for community and a willingness and capacity to contribute to the Emmaus Catholic School community.

In addition to the necessary teaching qualifications, the successful applicant must also have a sound grasp of Auslan, for teaching at the primary school level.
