About Primary Schools Music Festival

Role description

The Festival of Music is an educational music program which culminates in a series of performances in Adelaide and in ten regions across South Australia. It involves 300 primary schools across the state.
The Festival of Music is a joint state-wide venture of the Department for Education and the South Australian Public Primary Schools (SAPPS) Music Society and is governed by the Board of the Music Society and the Manager PSMF.
The Production Manager works collaboratively with the Manager and the PSMF Team to stage a concert series. The Production Manager reports to, and is responsible to, the PSMF Manager. The Production Manager responsibilities include: assembling a team of Concert Managers and volunteers; developing production procedures and their distribution; briefing theatre personnel and distributing relevant documentation regarding organisational and technical requirements; auditioning and managing Guest Artists and Foyer Concerts; sourcing of equipment; booking of venues, transport and timetabling.
The Production Manager is a 0.2 FTE position (1 day per week at the PSMF office - Thursdays), with up to approximately 40 extra irregular working days across the school year.

The successful applicant, if already employed by Department for Education, must be able to negotiate release for the extra times with their site manager. TRT days will be provided.
