Role description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Science Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Aveley Secondary College (SC) opened in 2018 and is a large secondary school catering for students from Year 7 to 12 in Perth’s Swan Valley. The College is recognised as a school of choice, with high expectations and standards, a progressive approach and a commitment to excellence.
We are committed to excellence in teaching and learning, with Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) as our signature pedagogy, supported by a rigorous behaviour curriculum and systems designed to support conditions for learning in the classroom. Teachers are supported through ongoing professional learning and coaching in these key areas.
Aveley SC's collaborative approach to pedagogy has been recognised as a finalist in the WA Education Awards 2025 for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and has been acknowledged by the Grattan Institute as an example of best practice. Our teaching staff have also been filmed by the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) to showcase effective classroom practice.
A key feature of the College is our strong team culture, with staff working collaboratively and supported by a comprehensive range of curriculum resources.
