Changes have come into effect from 3 March 2026

The Department of Education is seeking applications from teachers currently living in New Zealand, who want to relocate to Western Australia. The appointment pool is for teachers wanting to teach in a variety of regional schools only.

Teaching in Western Australian public schools comes with great benefits.   

As of March 2026, the International Teacher Relocation Support is as follows:

  • Fully funded visa sponsorship
  • Flights for you and your immediate family from an interstate location
  • Subsidised housing available in some regional areas
  • 2-week induction in Perth (travel and accommodation provided)
  • Pathway to permanent residency
