Role description
Head of Learning Area - Humanities and Social Sciences - to commence 12 October 2026
Mazenod College is a Catholic Secondary Boys Day | Boarding School conducted by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate.
The Head of Learning Area will work cohesively with the Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) team and has overall responsibility for the delivery of the curriculum at the College. As a senior educator and subject specialist, the Head of Learning Area - HaSS will provide leadership and mentoring opportunities to staff within the department. The Head of Learning Area - HaSS will also coordinate and promote co-curricular activities related to the Humanities and Social Science department and subject.
Ideally, the successful candidate will commence at the beginning of Term 4, Monday 12 October 2026, but a 2027 commencement will be considered.
As a Middle Leader, you are required to model exemplary standards of pastoral care, support the wellbeing programs in the College and lead the academic, social and spiritual growth of our young men.
As a member of the College community, you are expected to support the Oblate objectives, values and ethos, and actively engage in the College's co-curricular activities.
Applicants are required to have or be working towards the Accreditation to Lead and hold a current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA) and a valid Working with Children Check.
