Role description

About the role

Sacred Heart is seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officers to join our inclusive school community in a casual capacity. These roles offer flexible opportunities to support students on days or during periods when staff are unavailable. The position will commence as soon as possible, with hours varying based on personal availability and school needs. There may also be the opportunity for this role to transition into a more permanent position.

Our Learning Support Officers (LSOs) play a vital role in supporting students’ learning, wellbeing, and sense of belonging. In a casual capacity, LSOs work alongside classroom teachers, Learning Community Leaders, and the Learning Diversity Team to provide support when staffing needs arise — ensuring continuity of care and learning for all students.

  • Ability to support the diverse learning, wellbeing and personal care needs of students.
  • Ability to follow student support plans and classroom directions.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Strong teamwork, communication and flexibility.
  • Commitment to child safety, professional conduct and school policies.

  • Support the Catholic identity and values of Sacred Heart.
  • Support students with diverse learning and wellbeing needs.
  • Assist with personal care when required.
  • Follow Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs), and classroom adjustments.
