Role description

Christ the Priest (CtP) Catholic Primary School is committed to the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in our care.

Duties and Responsbilities

The Maintenance Officer/Grounds Keeper will be required to undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

Minor maintenance and repairs to school buildings, fixtures and fittings and grounds.

Receive and act upon maintenance requests.

Coordinate regular and as-needed maintenance repairs and checks.

Regular inspections of grounds, plant & equipment.

Provide advice and recommendations on projects relating to maintenance, renovations and improvements of the buildings.

Maintain and carry out the school's maintenance schedule.

Adhere to OHS requirements.

Communicate maintenance issues and concerns with a member of the school leadership team.

Assist with the setting up of school events.

Maintenance of school grounds including, but not limited to garden beds, lawns, paths, trees, soft-fall and sand.

Other duties through consultation with the Principal.

It is anticipated that the Maintenance Officer/Grounds Keeper would have or obtain, the following:

Current Full Victorian Drivers Licence.

Must have a valid Working with Children Check or be able to obtain one.

Be proactive, well organised and able to work to a standard without direct supervision.

A general knowledge of building repairs is essential.
