Role description

The Opportunity

St James has an opportunity for a Grounds/Maintenance worker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the ongoing general maintenance and care of our grounds, buildings, facilities and equipment, ensuring they are kept to the highest standard. 

Your usual hours of work will generally be 10 hours per week, over 45 weeks per year.

Your work pattern is negotiable.

Key responsibilities include:

  • General gardening tasks such as garden and lawn maintenance
  • Routine maintenance and safe handling of handheld power equipment, ride on lawn mower
  • General repairing and maintaining buildings externally and internally
  • Assist with rubbish removal; and
  • Scheduled and unscheduled remedial tasks.

About You

  • Knowledge and experience of general garden and turf management.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to safely and responsibly take instruction and respond appropriately.
  • Work under general supervision and apply a range of well-developed skills to a variety of predictable and occasional unpredictable problems, within scope of position, seeking guidance and instruction as applicable.
