Role description


This is a 13 month fixed term, full-time position commencing December 2026 with possible extension (12 months) and/or permanency

Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement and educational outcomes, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. Schools can submit a Request for Assistance to access support when facing significant challenges, for example support required for whole school practices where student wellbeing, engagement performance, and/or progress is at significant risk.

Are you an enthusiastic, energetic and highly engaging leader who is passionate about ensuring student voice is heard and meaningfully informs the work of the Department of Education?

The WA Student Council provides public school students with a direct opportunity to share their perspectives on issues that affect their education and experience at school. A key focus of this role is to lead the Council and other student voice forums, build authentic connections with young people and create meaningful opportunities for their ideas, experiences and perspectives to inform Departmental work.

The Council’s strength lies in its diverse membership. You will create productive, inclusive and safe environments where all students feel valued, heard and supported to contribute. This requires a culturally responsive approach and a commitment to strengthening the wellbeing, engagement and achievement of Aboriginal children and young people.
