About the Role

At Canberra Grammar School, Primary teaching is about far more than delivering a curriculum. It is about knowing each child, nurturing their confidence and creating the foundations from which a lifelong love of learning can grow.

We invite expressions of interest from exceptional Primary School teachers seeking ongoing or fixed-term opportunities commencing in 2027. As a Primary School Teacher at CGS, you will be a generalist educator and a central figure in each child’s learning journey.

Teaching from the Early Years to Year 6, you will bring learning to life through the IB Primary Years Programme, the Early Years Learning Framework and the Australian Curriculum. You will build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while inspiring inquiry, creativity, independence and courageous thinking.

You will also serve as the pastoral heart of your classroom—creating a safe and inclusive environment, developing meaningful relationships with families and ensuring every child feels known, supported and challenged to achieve their potential.

As part of our Primary School community, you will:
