Role description

St Narsai Assyrian Christian College is seeking a reliable, safety-conscious and community-minded School Traffic & Crossing Supervisor to assist with the safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians during school drop-off and pick-up times.

The successful applicant will play an important role in supporting the safety of students, staff, parents and visitors, while providing a visible, approachable and professional presence within the school community.

Duty Hours

This is a part-time position, Monday-Friday during school terms, with hours from 7am-9am and 2pm-3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage traffic flow during student drop-off and pick-up times.
  • Ensure the safety of students, staff, parents, and visitors in and around the school grounds.
  • Monitor designated crossing and loading zones.
  • Communicate courteously and effectively with parents, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist in always maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the relevant school personnel.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in traffic control, security, customer service, or a similar role.
  • Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Opportunity

Applicants who have practical maintenance, groundskeeping, or general handyman skills may have the opportunity to undertake maintenance duties during the school day. While this is desirable, it is not essential for the role.
