Role description
This is a unique leadership opportunity that combines educational leadership in a position of responsibility (POR) with classroom teaching. The successful candidate will work the equivalent of two days per week in the Educational Leader role and three days per week as a classroom teacher, sharing responsibility for teaching and learning within our Early Years program while supporting the ongoing development of high-quality early childhood practice across the centre.
Reporting to the Head of Early Years, the Educational Leader plays a pivotal role in promoting positive outcomes for children and families through pedagogical leadership, coaching and mentoring. The role focuses on strengthening educator capability, driving curriculum excellence, championing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and supporting continuous quality improvement through reflective practice and professional inquiry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate, coach and mentor educators and provide curriculum direction and guidance
- Support educators to implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices
- Work collaboratively with the Head of Early Years to meet the compliance requirements of the Early Years Framework and the National Quality Framework and contribute to the work the centre does in planning, monitoring and implementing these
- Champion the EYLF and Reggio Emilia-inspired practice and support quality improvement and assessment including rating readiness.
