Role description

Permanent Full-Time Position

Waverley College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This permanent role is ideal for a customer-focused professional who takes pride in maintaining accurate accounts and records and delivering outstanding service to our for-purpose school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day accounting and closing of Month-End & Year-end
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance
  • Systems and Process improvement

About You:

  • A professional with proactive approach to customer service
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Current qualification with an accounting body
  • Minimum 5 years-experience in accounting
  • Proven knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Goods and Services Tax
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (Lookups and Pivot tables as a minimum. Macros and Power Queries will be considered a bonus)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Confident communicator and able to engage across finance and non-finance audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
