Role description
The Headmaster seeks to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced Christian educator who demonstrates a commitment to their Christian faith, as evidenced by regular attendance and involvement at a Church, to this full-time, permanent position. The successful candidate will join the highly professional, dynamic, and industrious Mathematics Faculty. The successful applicant must be able to teach across all secondary stages, and experience teaching Extension 1 is a distinct advantage.
The staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of Apple laptop computers (for the duration of employment), a supportive Christian teaching environment, and well-resourced facilities within the Beavis Mathematics Rooms. This building is part of the Integrated Studies Precinct, which contains the teaching spaces for the Faculty of Mathematics, the Faculty of Science, and the Faculty of Technology and Creative Design.
Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate:
- a passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of the syllabus content, particularly Stage 6, including the recent revisions to the syllabus;
- a passion for Mathematics and how it integrates with other subjects;
- an innovative approach to teaching and learning;
- a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation;
- a commitment to detailed and timely feedback to students; and,
- a deep understanding of how students think and learn.
