Role description
POSITION OVERVIEW
Cedar College is seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher with expertise in English and Humanities to join our teaching team for a full-time, permanent position, commencing in Term 1, 2027. This role involves delivering engaging English and Humanities lessons to students in Years 7–10 and SACE Stage 1 and 2 English, contributing to their holistic growth. The ability to teach Christian Living would be considered an advantage. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to be considered for vacant Year Level Coordinator roles in 2027.
The successful candidate will:
- Have the ability and qualifications to teach English to students in Years 7–12, and Humanities in Year 7-10
- Consider the ability to teach Christian Living an advantage
- Have the opportunity to be considered for a Year Level Coordinator Position in 2027
Applicants are expected to teach according to the Australian Curriculum and the SACE and demonstrate how a Christian worldview informs their practice, aligning with the values and ethos of Cedar College.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in the subjects stated, for students in Years 7–12, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and the SACE.
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement and personal growth.
- Incorporate a Christian worldview into teaching practice, connecting faith with learning in meaningful ways.
- Participate actively in Homegroup/Community sessions as required, building strong connections with students and supporting their wellbeing.
