Position Information
Tacking Point Public School, located on Birpai Country has a student enrolment of 580 students, with 9% Aboriginal (50 students) among our total enrolment. We currently have 22 mainstream classes and one MC supported learning class. Our preschool will open in 2027 making our community the only P-6 public school in Port Macquarie. A strong collegial partnership exists with Hastings Valley Public Schools (HVPS), fostering collaboration and mutual support between our local public schools.
We're supported by strong P&C involvement and a proactive, wraparound Learning Support Team. The school culture prioritises inclusiveness, social responsibility, and wellbeing, guided by core values of Care, Courtesy, Respect, and Responsibility.
