Prairiewood High School is a co-educational, partially selective, comprehensive secondary school located in Wetherill Park in Sydney's South-West region on Dharug land. The school has a stable enrolment of approximately 1350. This includes 60 students each year in the selective stream and four Support Unit (Autism and IO) classes across Years 7 to 12. 87% of students have a language background other than English, and students represent 30 countries of origin. Approximately 50% of the student population requires English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) support, which has been steadily increasing. Currently, 25 students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school has approximately 95 teaching and 18 non-teaching staff.
