Location Profile
Cheltenham East Primary School is a welcoming and inclusive government primary school located in the suburb of Cheltenham in Melbourne's south-east. Our vision is to nurture confident, responsible and active members of the community. We are guided by our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Courtesy and Cooperation, which underpin our approach to learning, wellbeing and relationships.
In 2026, the school had an enrolment of 369 students. The school is organised into year-level teams from Foundation to Year 6 and is supported by a highly experienced and dedicated staff. All teachers meet Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration requirements. Our staffing profile includes classroom teachers, specialist teachers, education support staff, learning specialists and a leadership team committed to continuous improvement and high-quality teaching.
In 2026, the school's focus continued to be on improving learning growth for every student. A key priority was strengthening and consistently applying our whole-school Instructional Model, aligned to the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM 2.0) and Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS). This work ensures that every classroom follows clear, evidence-based teaching practices (Science of Learning) so that students experience consistent, high-quality instruction across the school. Our Learning performance was rated High, and this level was maintained in 2026.
