Role description

Selection Criteria

KSC1: A capacity to repair minor building and grounds projects in a timely manner upon notification from the facilities manager 

KSC2: Demonstrated proficiency in the safe use, storage and servicing of machinery and equipment relevant to the position.

KSC3: Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively or independently with minimal supervision to maintain buildings and grounds 

KSC4: Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including teachers, education support staff, students, parents and the wider community.

KSC5: Demonstrated commitment to ensure all relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to.

Role

All aspects of grounds and buildings maintenance will include raking all sandpits, playgrounds and checking play equipment in line with OHS. Mowing, removal of branches, sweeping, blow vaccing, planting, pruning, staking, weeding, mulching, waste and recycle bins,  painting minor repairs, (sourcing and ordering materials under the approval of the Principal) furniture/equipment movement, cleaning buses, working with outside contractors when required, assisting with projects (eg: working bees, garden projects, other school activities when required). 

Applicants must possess the ability to interpret safety regulations (OH&S) in relation to cleaning materials, paint and the safety instructions for operating any equipment and to report any OH&S issues if unable to fix.
