Role description

Location Profile

Templestowe Heights Primary School is a Victorian government school that began its journey into the Science of Learning during the COVID-19 lockdowns, choosing to ground its practice in research rather than educational philosophy. Located in Melbourne's inner east, we are proud of our knowledge-rich curriculum, explicit instruction, systematic teaching in literacy and mathematics and our leadership in writing instruction and assessment. The curriculum is deliberately sequenced to build knowledge over time, drawing on evidence from cognitive science and the human architecture of the way we all learn, to ensure every student has access to high-quality teaching.

In 2027, Templestowe Heights Primary School will have an enrolment of 610 students and 27 straight-grade classes.

The teaching staff at Templestowe Heights Primary School are expected to be active members of our learning community, working together in collaborative teams to assume a collective responsibility for student learning and wellbeing. They are actively supported through regular professional development, implementation support and instructional coaching opportunities.

Our specialist areas are Art, Physical Education, Library, STEM and Italian. Our MTSS incorporates intervention and support as well as Enrichment opportunities. Instrumental music classes, swimming programs, lunchtime clubs, camps and after school activities are offered. Whole school activities include Athletics, and a biannual School Production and School Ball.

The school¿s personal, social and character curriculum provides a strong…
