Role description

As Head of English, you will lead the English Department across Years 5–12, driving excellence in teaching and learning, curriculum development, staff leadership, and student achievement. The successful applicant will provide strategic direction for the Department, build staff capability, foster a culture of professional growth and accountability, and lead initiatives that improve educational outcomes.
Through strong educational leadership and evidence-informed practice, the Head of English will play an important role in advancing academic excellence and supporting the College's commitment to high-quality teaching and learning. This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced educational leader who can inspire others, lead change effectively and develop a cohesive, high-performing team committed to achieving exceptional outcomes for students.
This is a Permanent Full-Time teaching position with a three-year (3-point) promotional appointment as Head of English (2027–2029).
The Head of English is responsible for the leadership and management of the English Department and for strengthening student learning, engagement and achievement across Years 5–12.
