About the Role

Abbotsleigh is seeking an accomplished and passionate Senior History Teacher to join our thriving History Department from Term 1, 2027. Working with highly engaged students and exceptional colleagues, you will bring your expertise in Modern History to a collaborative and well-resourced department that values academic excellence, innovation and professional growth. This is an opportunity to shape young minds, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and thrive within one of Australia’s leading girls’ schools.

  • Teaching Stage 6 Modern History and supervising Extension History major works
  • Designing inclusive, intellectually stimulating lessons that foster critical thinking, debate, and historical empathy, with a focus on how girls learn best
  • Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
  • Supporting students in developing independent research and scholarly writing skills
  • Engaging in pastoral care and supporting student wellbeing
    Participating in whole-school initiatives and co-curricular programs.
