Role description
The Opportunity
Join our Human Resources & WHS team in a fixed-term capacity role as a WHS Officer, responsible for coordinating the day-to-day work health, safety, and risk management support across St Patrick's College. This dynamic role is ideal for an organised, practical, and proactive individual who holds relevant safety qualifications or experience and thrives in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Working alongside the HR & WHS Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our campus remains safe, compliant, and well-supported. Key responsibilities include coordinating incident and hazard reporting, assisting with operational risk assessments, maintaining safety registers, organising compliance training and emergency drills, and supporting workers' compensation administration. The role also involves delivering practical daily safety guidance to staff, assisting the WHS Committee, and contributing to College-wide wellbeing initiatives.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, classified at Business Services Level 4 in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
About You
As a WHS Officer you will have:
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining compliance and safety records.
- Relevant experience or qualifications in WHS, risk management, or a related field.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team while exercising sound judgment and initiative to manage daily priorities under general direction.
