Role description

We are seeking a dedicated and engaging English teacher to join our thriving secondary school community. Experience teaching Senior SACE English is highly desirable, and the ability to teach in a second subject area will be highly regarded.

This permanent role commences Term 1 2027, with the load ranging from 0.74-1.0 FTE depending on second teaching area. The key responsibilities are to:

  • Deliver high-quality English learning programs across Years 7-12.
  • Support students in developing strong literacy, analytical and communication skills.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on assessment tasks and examinations.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and complete reporting requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports student wellbeing.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and learning.
  • Support parent information evenings and curriculum-related events.

About you:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Qualifications and experience teaching secondary English.
  • Experience teaching Senior SACE English (highly desirable).
  • Ability to teach in a second learning area (highly desirable).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Sound professional judgement and attention to detail.
  • Resilience, adaptability and a positive approach to change.
