Role description
The Opportunity
St Joseph's Parish School has an opportunity for a Bus Driver and Grounds/Maintenance worker to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for our Crystal Brook / Narridy bus run each morning and afternoon, while also being responsible for the ongoing maintenance and care of our beautiful grounds, buildings, facilities and equipment, ensuring they are kept to the highest standard.
Your usual hours of work will generally be 22 hours per week worked on no more than 5 days in any 7 days, over 42 weeks per year.
Your work pattern will be as follows:
Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 9:45am then 2:30pm – 4:45pm; Friday 7:30am – 9:30am then 2:30pm – 4:30pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the safe transport of students to and from school each morning and afternoon during school terms in the school bus
- General maintenance of the school bus
- General gardening tasks such as garden and lawn maintenance
- Routine maintenance and safe handling of handheld power equipment, ride on lawn mower
- Repairing and maintaining buildings externally and internally
- Assist with rubbish removal; and
- Scheduled and unscheduled remedial tasks.
About You
- Hold relevant and current drivers' licence and have demonstrated relevant skills and experience in driving and maintenance of a bus.
- Knowledge, experience and effective application of Australian road rules and to operate a bus safely and responsibly at all times.
- Knowledge and experience of general garden and turf management.
