Role description

Sacré Cœur is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Japanese Language Assistant. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the education and wellbeing of students and who wants to contribute to our culture of excellence. Start date is Term 1 2027.
About the Role
The Japanese Language Assistant will support the Languages team through:
- Conducting conversational Japanese practice with students.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of language learning activities.
- Providing cultural knowledge and authentic language experiences.
- Supporting classroom programs from Years 7 to 12.
- Assisting with cocurricular activities and events that promote Japanese language and culture.
About You
- Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written Japanese.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Curriculum Japanese (Years 7-10) and the VCE Japanese Study Design (Years 11-12).
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers to support student learning and language development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- A passion for promoting Japanese language and culture within the school community.
