The Public Schools Planning Directorate operates as part of the Strategy and Policy Division and is responsible for planning the future delivery of public schooling throughout the State, including the design, location and delivery of schooling and programs. The directorate undertakes research and provides advice to senior leaders on Department and school, regional and system-wide issues to support and inform decision making. It has responsibility for ensuring that the configuration and delivery of schooling throughout the State best meets the educational needs of students.
Public Schools Planning has a lead role in the development and coordination of strategic advice to inform the design, location and delivery of future public schooling. Public Schools Planning supports the implementation of statewide policies, initiatives and strategies that impact public school planning, including the Configuration of the School Day and the Enrolment in Public Schools policy and procedures.
The Role
The Principal Consultant assists in the planning and implementation of state-wide initiatives and strategies that impact on the delivery of public schooling. They undertake analysis and develop system-level advice and proposals for programs and initiatives that support delivery of public schooling across the state, to best meet the educational needs of students regardless of where they live.
