Role description


This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAP

The Public Schools Planning directorate operates as part of the Strategy and Policy division and is responsible for planning the future delivery of public schooling throughout the state, including the design, location and delivery of schooling and programs. The directorate undertakes research and provides advice to senior leaders on Department and school, regional and system-wide issues to support and inform decision making. It has responsibility for ensuring that the configuration of the delivery of schooling across the state best meets the educational needs of students.

Public Schools Planning has a lead role in the development and coordination of strategic advice to inform the design, location and delivery of future public schooling. Public Schools Planning supports the implementation of statewide policies, initiatives and strategies that impact public school planning, including the Configuration of the School Day and the  Enrolment in Public Schools policy and procedures.

The Role

The Manager leads and manages the planning and effective integration of emerging whole-of government reform priorities, initiatives and strategies that impact long-term school planning. They facilitate the development, monitoring and review of key system-level initiatives that support the delivery of schooling across areas to best meet the evolving and emerging education needs of students.
