Role description

Blackfriars is an independent Catholic School under the governance of the Dominican Friars, committed to providing a well-rounded education that caters specifically to the needs of boys: academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

12-month contract full-time FTE 1.0 position commencing January 2027

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Junior Primary School Teacher to join our dynamic teaching team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment, delivering innovative lessons, and inspiring students to reach their full potential. 

Key Responsibilities: 

The successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons that cater to the individual needs and interests of junior primary children. 
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to ensure each child reaches their full potential. 
  • Establish strong partnerships with parents and caregivers to support children's learning and development. 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel valued and supported. 
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and enriching curriculum that promotes holistic development.

Requirements: 

  • Experience working with junior primary children preferred. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences. 
  • Knowledge of early years curriculum and best practices in early childhood education.
