Selection Criteria

  1. Previous experience or demonstrate interest in Paediatric Physiotherapy, in particular students with physical disabilities.

  2. Demonstrate skills in assessment, clinical reasoning and evidence based intervention to optomise mobility in students with disabilities. 

  3. Demonstrate sound written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with students, families, teaching staff, Allied Health and medical professionals.

  4. Demonstrate commitment professional development and involvement in quality improvement projects.

  5. Demonstrate self-reflection skills and well-developed self-care strategies.

Role

We provide physiotherapy services to children and adolescents in conjunction with the broader allied health team and classroom staff. Our Allied Health team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Nurses, Wellbeing Support Officer, Mental Health Practitioner and Allied Health Assistants. 

Physiotherapy intervention in the school setting address the child¿s functional needs in accessing all areas of the school curriculum. Physiotherapy interventions enable our students to travel throughout the school environment; participate in classroom activities; maintain and change positions in the classroom; as well as manage stairs, bathrooms, buses and the playground.
