Role description

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated excellent skills, knowledge, passion, experience or qualifications in the area of delivery of high quality catering school focused food.
  2. Demonstrated awareness of the requirements for safe operation of the kitchen, and possession of qualifications, knowledge and experience to be nominated as the Safe Food Supervisor of the Canteen.
  3. Excellent ability to relate to young people and in a way that support the care and learning policies of Kingsley Park PS.
  4. Demonstrated awareness of Department of Education and Training guidelines for the supply of nutritious food in school settings and Occupational health and Safety Policies.
  5. Highly developed ability to plan and implement requirements in regards to a school canteen, for example stock control and ordering.  
  6. Excellent ability to work in a team whilst demonstrating the required Child Safe Standards.

Role

  • Planning, organising, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including the rostering of voluntary workers, daily record-keeping, opening and closing the canteen, preparation and cooking for service and ensuring all workers sign in and out;
  • Developing, implementing and managing procedures to deliver the food service.
  • Providing leadership to canteen employees and volunteers to ensure the delivery of an affordable food service to the school community.
  • Ordering, purchasing and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
