Role description
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated excellent skills, knowledge, passion, experience or qualifications in the area of delivery of high quality catering school focused food.
- Demonstrated awareness of the requirements for safe operation of the kitchen, and possession of qualifications, knowledge and experience to be nominated as the Safe Food Supervisor of the Canteen.
- Excellent ability to relate to young people and in a way that support the care and learning policies of Kingsley Park PS.
- Demonstrated awareness of Department of Education and Training guidelines for the supply of nutritious food in school settings and Occupational health and Safety Policies.
- Highly developed ability to plan and implement requirements in regards to a school canteen, for example stock control and ordering.
- Excellent ability to work in a team whilst demonstrating the required Child Safe Standards.
Role
- Planning, organising, and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including the rostering of voluntary workers, daily record-keeping, opening and closing the canteen, preparation and cooking for service and ensuring all workers sign in and out;
- Developing, implementing and managing procedures to deliver the food service.
- Providing leadership to canteen employees and volunteers to ensure the delivery of an affordable food service to the school community.
- Ordering, purchasing and checking all supplies against invoices and delivery dockets.
