Lead curriculum. Support teachers. Inspire students.

An exciting leadership opportunity exists for an experienced Science educator to join Victory Lutheran College as Learning Leader: Science.

Working alongside the Director of Learning and Secondary Leadership Team, you will lead curriculum development, support teacher growth and foster a culture of continuous improvement across Years 7–12, while maintaining an active role in the classroom.

 

Position Details

  • Ongoing teaching position with a fixed-term Position of Responsibility.
  • Science Learning Area leadership across Years 7-12.
  • Category C Level 2 Position of Responsibility.
  • Six lessons release per fortnight for leadership responsibilities.

 

About the role

The Learning Leader: Science provides leadership and oversight of curriculum, assessment and teaching practice across Years 7-12. The role plays a key part in ensuring students experience engaging, challenging and high-quality Science learning opportunities that inspire curiosity and build pathways for future success. 

You will:

  • Lead curriculum design, implementation and review across the Science Learning Area.
  • Support and mentor Science teachers to continually strengthen teaching practice.
  • Drive assessment consistency, moderation and quality assurance processes.
  • Analyse student achievement data to inform improvement priorities.
  • Lead Science Week, STEM initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
  • Support and oversee laboratory operations, resources and practical learning experiences.
