Your RoleAn exciting opportunity currently exists within the The Cathedral College maintenance team. We are seeking a full-time continuing Facilities Officer (Grounds/Maintenance person) for an immediate commencement. We are seeking applicants who will contribute to the effective and efficient operation and environment of the school both boarding and main campus by providing a high level of maintenance and development of the school’s grounds.Typical duties include:-Practice confidentiality in relation to all aspects of the roleMowing, trimming and fertilising lawns and turf areasRepairing and maintaining irrigation systemsWeeding, planting and fertilising gardensMaintaining grounds equipmentChecking and adjusting security lightingAssisting with minor building maintenance as directedCarry out minor repairs to school property and equipment including:Replacing tap washersRepairing leaking toiletsRepairing windowsRepairing desks and chairsBasic painting as directedAssist with marking sporting fields and grounds.Assist with the setup and dismantling of tents and equipment related to school functions.Assess equipment to determine if minor repairs are required.Assist with the completion and documentation of a variety of workplace health and safety tasks as required by the Facilities Manager.Bus driving dutiesFor more information, please view the Position Description.About youThe successful applicant will have relevant experience and an understanding of, and a commitment to, the ethos of Catholic Education.
