Role description
Work somewhere different - join Amata Anangu School as our Pool Manager
Amata Anangu School is looking for a practical, positive and community-minded person to manage our school swimming pool in Amata, in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.
Amata is a remote Anangu community in the far north of South Australia, surrounded by open desert country and the Musgrave Ranges. Working here offers much more than a standard job. It is an opportunity to live in a unique part of Australia, build strong relationships with students, families and community, and experience life and work on Anangu Country.
The school pool plays an important role in Amata. It provides students with opportunities to develop swimming and water-safety skills, supports PE and school programs, and gives children, families and community members a safe place to swim and stay active during the warmer months.
As Pool Manager, you will be responsible for keeping the pool safe, clean and ready for use. This includes monitoring water quality, completing routine maintenance, managing safety requirements and supporting school and community swimming sessions.
The main pool season generally operates across Terms 4 and 1 and the summer school holidays. Depending on community needs, a seven-day roster may operate during this period. Outside of the swimming season, there will be opportunities to continue working with Amata Anangu School by assisting with maintenance, grounds, cleaning, minor repairs and other practical work across the site.
