Role description
Christ the King School is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Primary Teacher: Science to join our learning community.
This role provides an opportunity to inspire curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking through engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences. The successful applicant will plan and deliver a balanced and challenging Science program aligned with the Australian Curriculum, responding to the diverse learning needs, abilities and interests of primary-aged students.
Working collaboratively with the school leadership team, teaching colleagues, support staff and families, the Primary Science Teacher will help students develop scientific knowledge, inquiry skills and confidence as capable learners. The teacher will also contribute positively to the Catholic identity, culture and broader life of Christ the King School.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver a comprehensive and engaging Primary Science learning program aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
- Create practical and inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, critical thinking and active participation.
- Differentiate teaching and learning to respond to students’ varying abilities, learning needs and learning styles, including the use of Individual Learning Plans where appropriate.
- Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, well-organised and productive learning environment, ensuring equipment and resources are prepared and appropriate for planned activities.
