Role description

Star of the Sea School is seeking a dedicated and passionate teacher who can build a positive, inclusive and nurturing 1:1 learning environment. Working in partnership with an Educational Support Officer, the successful applicant will provide highly personalised teaching and learning experiences aligned to the student's individual goals, strengths and needs. The role requires a flexible, collaborative and student-centred approach, with a strong commitment to supporting engagement, wellbeing, independence and growth.  

This secondment position is only available to permanent CESA employees.  

The successful applicant will:

  • Actively support and contribute to the catholic ethos of the school
  • Demonstrate an understanding of contemporary, inclusive pedagogy that responds to the learning needs of students with disabilities. 
  • Have experience in designing and implementing programs using the Australian Curriculum
  • Possess highly developed interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and experience in supporting students with complex behaviours and the implementation of emotional regulation strategies
  • Be an energetic, dynamic educator who is committed to ongoing personal and professional learning with a willingness to work collaboratively within teams, including with our Allied Health Team.
