Role description

Waggrakine Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Waggrakine PS is an inclusive mainstream school with an endorsed Education Support program for students with additional needs. As part of a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, you will contribute to both the Education Support program that caters for students with high educational needs, and the support of students within mainstream classrooms.

Located on Yamatji Country in Geraldton, Waggrakine PS is a well-established Independent Public School with an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) of 867 and enrolment of 394 students, more than a third of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. At Waggrakine PS, we Achieve by Caring by nurturing both the education and wellbeing of every student. Our core expectations, 'Respect, Responsibility and Active learning' are embedded in all aspects of school life.

We value strong community involvement and welcome families as partners in education. By maximising parent/carer engagement and maintaining open communication, we create greater opportunities for students to reach their potential. Our school provides an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment where every child feels a genuine sense of connection and belonging.
