Role description

Key Responsibilities

Leadership of the Academic Music Program

  • Lead the development, delivery and continuous improvement of the P–12 Academic Music curriculum.
  • Promote excellence in teaching, learning, assessment and student achievement.
  • Lead and develop Music Department staff through mentoring, collaboration and professional growth.
  • Ensure curriculum, assessment and reporting practices meet relevant requirements and standards.

Leadership of the Co-Curricular Music Program

  • Provide strategic leadership of the College's Performance Music and Music Tuition programs.
  • Foster strong alignment between classroom music, instrumental tuition and performance opportunities.
  • Support the planning and delivery of concerts, productions, ensembles and other special music events.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families and the broader College community to promote engagement in music.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Undertake classroom teaching as required.
  • Contribute to the pastoral, co-curricular and wider life of the College.
  • Model professional practice and support the Christian ethos and values of the College.

About You

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Proven leadership experience within a school music environment.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary music curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
  • Experience leading and developing staff in a collaborative setting.
  • A passion for developing young musicians and encouraging broad student participation.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
