Role description

St Spyridon College is an independent, co-educational school with a strong commitment to the delivery of a rigorous academic program with a personalised learning approach that helps students find their passion and reach their potential. We are currently seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Science teacher to join our secondary teaching team from Term 4, 2026. The successful candidate must have a commitment to academic excellence and be able to demonstrate their capacity to deliver a rigorous academic program. 

Success Criteria:

The successful applicant will:

  • Be able to contribute to the strong academic culture of the school environment
  • Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance and development
  • Be willing to use student data effectively to inform teaching practice
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Head of College or her delegate

The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Education and Science.
  • NESA Accreditation and eligibility to teach in New South Wales.
  • A strong understanding of evidence-based teaching practice and curriculum differentiation.
