Role description
Safeguarding Business Partner
Catholic Education Tasmania (CET) is seeking a Safeguarding Business Partner to play a critical role in strengthening child safety and wellbeing across our system. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional to provide expert advice, leadership and support to school and organisational leaders, ensuring best-practice responses to safeguarding concerns and compliance with child safety obligations.
About the role
As the Safeguarding Business Partner, you will:
- Lead the intake, assessment and triage of safeguarding concerns across Catholic Education Tasmania.
- Provide expert advice and support to principals and leaders on child safety matters and statutory obligations.
- Manage complex safeguarding cases, including risk assessment, documentation and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the implementation of Child Safe Standards and culturally safe practices across the organisation.
- Contribute to safeguarding capability, continuous improvement and a strong culture of child safety.
About You
You will possess:
- A strong understanding of culturally responsive, strengths-based practice and First Nations ways of being, knowing and doing.
- Extensive knowledge of the issues impacting First Nations families, including systemic trauma and child protection frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead safeguarding intake, triage and risk assessments, applying sound judgement and maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong knowledge of Child Safe Standards, child safety legislation and best-practice safeguarding in education settings.
