Role description

This five-year Position of Responsibility appointment commences in January 2027 and is supported by an ongoing substantive teaching position at Seymour College. The capacity to teach within an additional secondary subject area is desirable.
As the Head of English, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the English Department.
- Drive excellence in curriculum design, assessment and contemporary pedagogical practice.
- Use student achievement data to inform teaching and improve learning outcomes.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of educators.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
- Support students through curriculum guidance, enrichment opportunities and pathways advice.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the College to ensure a seamless learning journey for students.

- Proven experience as an outstanding English educator with a passion for student learning, and the flexibility to contribute to teaching in a second curriculum area.
