Role description
Key Working Relationships
The OSHC Worker is responsible to the school Principal through the OSHC Director.
The successful applicant will:
- Possess the ability to form positive, working relationships with staff, children and families.
- Possess the skills, strategies and knowledge to work with children with specific learning or emotional needs.
- Work as part of the OSHC team to develop, maintain and monitor programs that meet the needs of students.
- Implement daily routines as directed.
- Assist children with personal hygiene where needed.
- Work in partnership with parents in supporting the needs of their children.
- Maintain and present appropriate documentation on specific programs, student learning progress and observations as requested.
- Support the provision of a safe, healthy and stimulating environment for children, offering individual support and comfort when required.
- Work in accordance with the OSHC National Standards for South Australia.
- Actively participate in regular performance reviews and undertake training and professional development activities as required.
Specific Requirements:
- Certificate 2 qualification in childcare (or relevant discipline) or demonstrated equivalent competencies is highly desirable.
- Applicable First Aid Certificate relevant to the role requirements (First Aid in an Education and Care Setting)
- Current and acceptable Working with Children Clearance and screening to work in Catholic Education SA (must be obtained before commencement if not already held)
- Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate
