Education Assistant - Lead

We are seeking to establish a pool of Lead Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School of Special Educational Needs: Disability (SSEND)

SSEND is one of eight Specialist Schools within Statewide Services. At SSEND we partner with schools and communities to deliver an effective, responsive and integrated service that supports students with additional needs to achieve their potential. Support is provided state-wide through a Request for Assistance model that matches the needs of schools to the skill set of our staff.

SSEND seeks to make a valued contribution to education through the provision of evidence- informed strategies and practical support for students with disability and learning disabilities. Our Consulting Teachers work throughout the state, and support includes individualised student support, whole school consultancy, development and delivery of professional learning and creation of online resources and information. Our school mission, (partnering with schools to provide collaborative support and resources that promote learning environments where every student’s potential is realised), is at the heart of what we do. The Lead Special Needs Education Assistants will work alongside Consulting Teachers to support this work.
